[RESOLVED] Virtual Chassis on Omniswitch 6360 License
Just wanted to know, for Virtual Chassis using VFL on omniswitch OS6360 do we require a license ? and if we can mix switches with different number of ports for example:
OS6360P24 and OS6360-48 ?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks for the fast reply and for clarifying my doubt. Understood completely!
The OS6360-24(P24) and -48(P48) models do support Virtual Chassis and no license is required. They can be mixed with all the models that support the VC functionality in the 6360 family; for example, the default VFL ports are Ports 27/28 in the OS6360-24 (P24) models, and ports 51/52 in the OS6360-48 (P48) models.
If 10G SFP+ optical transceivers or DACs are interconnected between those switch models then the AOS Auto-Fabric features will automatically create the VC VFL services by default; however, if Auto-Fabric is disabled those services can be enabled manually.
The supported DACs for VFLs are the following:
|Model No||Description||Sales Category|
|OS6360-CBL-1M||1 meter long 10Gbs SFP+ direct stacking cable for OS6360 24 and 48 port models||F|
|OS6360-CBL-3M||3 meter long 10Gbs SFP+ direct stacking cable for OS6360 24 and 48 port models||F|
|OS6360-CBL-60CM||60 centimeter long 10Gbs SFP+ direct stacking cable for OS6360 24 and 48 port models||F|
Let me know if you have further questions.
