New Hardware for Enhanced Performance
AOS 8.10R2 introduces 7 new OmniSwitch 6870, 2 uplink modules, and 6 new power supplies (3 system and 3 PoE options), expanding our portfolio with versatile and powerful equipment to meet a range of networking demands.
Advanced Features on OmniSwitch 6870 Models
The OmniSwitch 6870 switches bring a range of advanced capabilities, including:
· VRF: Virtual Routing and Forwarding, allowing multiple instances of a routing table.
· MACsec: Improved security with MAC layer encryption.
· 1588 E2E: Precise time synchronization for latency-sensitive applications.
· DPI / App-Mon Support: Deep Packet Inspection and Application Monitoring for better visibility.
· SPB and L2GRE (L2/L3): Advanced Layer 2/Layer 3 tunnelling and scalable networking.
· BGP: Enhanced Border Gateway Protocol capabilities enable greater flexibility in managing large-scale networks and optimizing traffic flows across diverse network environments.
· VXLAN: Virtual eXtensible LAN support.
Feature Enhancements Across the Portfolio
· OmniSwitch 6570M: Now supports the critical MACsec feature for advanced encryption and BGP, to exchange routing information between autonomous systems.
· OmniSwitch 6900: o Gains MPLS (VPLS) support in some models, providing more flexibility in Layer 2 VPN implementations. o Continues to integrate new EVPN features, further improving virtualized network environments.
· OmniSwitch 9907 Platform: Adds a second version of the Control Module (OS9907-CM2), enhancing redundancy and performance.
