By Stephan Robineau, ALE EVP Network Division
AI is redefining the networking industry, and at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, we are fully committed to an AI-driven future that delivers intelligence, automation, and security — without compromising control.
The challenge we see today is that AI is too often being positioned as an all-or-nothing proposition. Some vendors promote fully autonomous, cloud-driven networks that strip customers of visibility and control. This creates vendor lock-in, limits flexibility, and raises concerns about data privacy and security.
At ALE, our approach is different. We believe in the right balance and leverage between AI at the edge and AI in the cloud to create autonomous networks that are smart, secure, and practical.

In three dimensions, you will understand the vision of AI regarding network activities within ALE.

AI for Smarter, Self-Optimizing Networks
Our Edge-to-Cloud AI Network Optimization ensures that customers get the best of both worlds. AI at the edge enables real-time decision-making for low-latency, high-performance applications, while AI in the cloud provides scalability, automation, and predictive insights.
Our OmniVista Network Advisor (OVNA) is a prime example of AI-driven automation. This AI-powered companion offers real-time monitoring, proactive anomaly detection, and instant remediation, ensuring that networks are always optimized for peak performance and security. More importantly, OVNA allows network administrators to tune automation to their desired level, giving them full control over AI-driven processes rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.
AI for Security & Zero Trust
AI is also a critical enabler of cybersecurity. Through AI-driven anomaly detection, our networks can predict, identify, and mitigate threats in real-time. OmniVista AI augments NAC, firewalls, and security ecosystems—enabling automatic quarantine of compromised devices and dynamic enforcement of security policies.
AI-Powered Business innovation
Beyond automation and security, AI plays a major role in Networks enabling faster business innovation, such as simplifying IT and OT integration. Our API-native platforms leverage AI to streamline operations, reduce integration complexity, and enhance user experiences. Predictive maintenance, AI-powered customer care, and GenAI-driven assistance all contribute to smarter, more efficient networking.
Our Commitment to AI Innovation
At ALE, we believe in pervasive and pragmatic AI that empowers our employees, partners and customers. Our goal is to deliver an autonomous, secure, and intelligent network, where AI enhances visibility, reduces complexity, stimulates innovation and provides customers with full control over their infrastructure.
This is our vision for AI in networking—one that delivers intelligence without compromise.
